The Power of Music and Memory

Our Pacific View Community enjoyed a celebration of music and memory at the Sprague Community Theater, Sunday, April 19.

The documentary film, “Alive Inside: A Story of Music & Memory,” illustrates how memory care promotes a lifestyle that is active and engaging. Our shared discussion on the topic of memory care was a welcome opportunity to start a conversation regarding the power of Music and Memory.

Executive Director Debbie Wilson extends special thanks to the professionals who helped facilitate the memory care discussion: Leslie Davis, Memory Care Program Administrator for Pacific View; Liska McNally, Board Certified Music Therapist practicing in Portland, Oregon; counselor Kit O’Callaghan, of Coos Bay, who leads the Family Caregiver Support Group at Pacific View.

Those with questions about memory loss and memory care are welcome to contact Pacific View, 541-347-7502. Our free Family Caregiver Support Group meets the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month, from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
